REMOVAL
WARNING:
Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.
NOTES:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations
depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential
information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and
Operation).

- Remove the 2 rear silencer mounting rubbers and the exhaust
clamp.
- Remove the rear silencer.

If equipped.

Disconnect the exhaust actuator electrical connector and reposition
away from the exhaust assembly.
CAUTION:
This step requires the aid or another technician.

- Release the 4 rear silencer mounting rubbers and the exhaust
clamp.
- Remove the rear silencer.

clamp.
- Remove the rear silencer.

- Install the rear silencer.
- Secure the 4 rear silencer mounting rubbers and the exhaust
clamp.

Connect the exhaust actuator electrical connector.

WARNINGS:
To avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury,
the
backup power supply must be depleted before repairing or
replacing any air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS)
components. To deplete the backup power supply energy,
