REMOVAL

WARNING:

Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.

NOTES:

  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

Refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

Vehicles with occasional rear seats

CAUTION:

This step requires the aid or another technician.

NOTE:

Right side shown, left side is similar.

Exhaust - Ingenium i4 2.0l Diesel Rear Silencer (G2142885) / Removal and Installation

  • Remove the 2 rear silencer mounting rubbers and the exhaust clamp.
  • Remove the rear silencer.

Vehicles without occasional rear seats

NOTE:

If equipped.

Exhaust - Ingenium i4 2.0l Diesel Rear Silencer (G2142885) / Removal and Installation

Disconnect the exhaust actuator electrical connector and reposition away from the exhaust assembly.

CAUTION:

This step requires the aid or another technician.

  • Release the 4 rear silencer mounting rubbers and the exhaust clamp.
  • Remove the rear silencer.

Vehicles with occasional rear seats

CAUTION:

This step requires the aid or another technician.

NOTE:

Right side shown, left side is similar.

  • Remove the 2 rear silencer mounting rubbers and the exhaust clamp.
  • Remove the rear silencer.

NOTE:

  • Release the 4 rear silencer mounting rubbers and the exhaust clamp.
  • Remove the rear silencer.

INSTALLATION

  • Install the rear silencer.
  • Secure the 4 rear silencer mounting rubbers and the exhaust clamp.

NOTE:

If equipped

Connect the exhaust actuator electrical connector.

  • Secure the 2 rear silencer mounting rubbers and the exhaust clamp.
