and Installation
REMOVAL
NOTES:
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: Specifications (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables,
Specifications).
WARNING:
Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack.
Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
Remove the rear wheel and tire.
Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires, Removal and
Installation).
Torque: 6 Nm
INSTALLATION
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Using the Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, calibrate the
suspension ride height.

procedures
SPECIAL TOOL(S)
CAUTIONS:
- Make sure the wheels and tires, tie rod ends, suspension joints
and
wheel bearings are free from damage, wear and free play.
- Make sure there are no heavy objects in the vehicle.
- The ride height must be measured with the vehicle weight
supported by the suspension.
- Drive the vehicle on to a flat, level surface.
- Make sure the steering wheel is in the straight ahead position.
- Make sure the vehicles fuel tank is full, if not distribute extra
weight
evenly over the fuel tank area to represent a full tank of fuel.
NOTE:
This procedure must be carried out after the removal or replacement
of the front or rear height sensors, suspension arms, shock absorbers,
coil springs and any body panels incorporating suspension fixing
points.
CAUTION:
Make sure the vehicle is not moved once it has been
positioned to take measurements.
Position the vehicle on a flat level surface.
NOTES:
- Do not install the special tool over a locking wheel nut.
- Make sure the special tool is square to the wheel face with
the measuring rod in a vertical position.
- Take the measurement from the top edge of the slider on
the special tool.
- Make sure the fender splash shields are correctly fitted.
Check the ride height dimensions.
For additional information, refer to: Specifications (204-00,
Specifications).
- Using the Land Rover approved diagnostic system, calibrate the
suspension ride height.
- With the diagnostic tool in the suspension height
measurement screen, use the special tool to measure and
record the height setting from each wheel center to the
wheel arch.
