REMOVAL
NOTES:

Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Refer to: Specifications (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables,
Specifications).
Remove the engine cover.
Refer to: Engine Cover - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel (501-05 Interior
Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
Remove the battery tray.
Refer to: Battery Tray (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables,
Removal and Installation).
Remove the air box and pipe assembly
Torque:
Nuts 9 Nm
Screws 2 Nm
Disconnect and position the harness to one side.
NOTES:
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
Remove the EGR pipe.
Torque:
Pipe to EGR valve bolts 12 Nm
Pipe to inlet manifold bolts 7 Nm
Position the pipe to one side.
NOTE:
Note the fitted position of the retaining bolts prior to
removal.
Remove the bracket.
Torque: 12 Nm
Torque: 9 Nm
NOTE:
Remove and discard the gasket.
Remove the upper timing cover.
Torque: 12 Nm
INSTALLATION
NOTE:
Make sure a new gasket is installed.
Apply a 3 mm diameter bead of RTV sealant (Loctite 5970) to the
Upper timing chain cover gasket in the position shown.
NOTE:
Take care when installing the Upper timing chain cover
gasket.
Install the upper timing cover.
Torque:
Stage 1: 5 Nm
Stage 2: 13 Nm
Stage 3: Loosen: 180º
Stage 4: 13 Nm
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

If a new valve cover is installed, new locating dowels must
installed.
Torque: 47 Nm
CAUTION:
Install a new seal.
Renew Part: Oil fill pipe O-ring seal.
Torque: 1

The single speed rear window wiper motor is mounted on the inner panel of
the tailgate and is secured with three bolts. Three rubber bushes isolate the
rear window wiper motor assembly from the tailgate.
