SPECIAL TOOL(S)

REMOVAL

NOTE:

Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.

WARNING:

Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

Refer to: Specifications (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Specifications).

Refer to: Engine Cover - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

Refer to: Radiator (303-03B Engine Cooling - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel, Removal and Installation).

Remove the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) material.

CAUTION:

Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

NOTE:

Remove and discard the gasket.

NOTE:

Remove and discard the gasket.

CAUTION:

Remove and discard the high-pressure fuel supply line.

CAUTION:

Only rotate the crankshaft clockwise.

Rotate the engine until the component is as shown.

Remove the components from the special tool.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1627

Install with the special tool.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1627

CAUTIONS:

• Make sure that the component is correctly located.
• Only rotate the crankshaft clockwise.

Rotate the engine and align the special tool to the fuel pump gear

Install the bolts until hard stop.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1627

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1627

Loosen the bolts as indicated in the illustration.

Loosen the bolt as indicated in the illustration.

Rotate the special tool to break the taper on the fuel pump shaft.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1627

Remove the retaining bolts.

Remove the retaining bolt.
