REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Before disconnecting or removing the components, make sure the area around the joint faces and connections are clean. Plug open connections to prevent contamination.

Torque: 35 Nm

INSTALLATION

CAUTIONS:

  • If accidentally dropped or knocked install a new sensor.
  • Make sure the anti-seize compound is applied only to the thread and does not contact the sensor body.

NOTE:

If the original sensor is to be installed, apply lubricant meeting specification ESE-M12A4-A to the thread of the sensor.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

Torque: 48 Nm

INSTALLATION

CAUTIONS:

  • If accidentally dropped or knocked install a new sensor.
  • Make sure the HO2S wiring harness is not twisted more than 180 degrees and is not in contact with either the exhaust or driveshaft.
  • Make sure the anti-seize compound does not contact the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) tip.

NOTE:

If the original sensor is to be installed, apply lubricant meeting specification ESE-M12A4-A to the thread of the sensor.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

INSTALLATION

NOTE:

Make sure that the component is clean, free of foreign material and lubricant.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Inspect the O-ring seal, install a new component if damaged.

INSTALLATION
