Transmission Fluid

CHECK
WARNING:
Observe due care when draining, as the fluid can be very hot.
All vehicles
WARNING:
Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
NOTE:
Make sure that the vehicle is standing on a level surface.
Raise and support the vehicle.
Refer to: Engine Undershield (501-02 Front End Body Panels,
Removal and Installation).
Clean the area around the transmission fluid filler plug.
Vehicles with 2.2L engine
CAUTION:
Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
NOTE:
Discard the sealing washer.
- Place a container under the transmission.
- Remove the transmission fluid filler plug.
Vehicles with 2.0L diesel engine
CAUTION:
Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
NOTE:
Discard the sealing washer.
- Place a container under the transmission.
- Remove the transmission fluid filler plug.
All vehicles
Use transmission fluid meeting Land Rover specification.
Refer to: Specifications (308-00 Manual Transmission/Transaxle and
Clutch - General Information, Specifications).
Fill the transmission with the correct fluid until it runs from the filler
plug.
Vehicles with 2.2L engine
NOTE:
Make sure that a new sealing washer is installed.
Torque: 30 Nm
Vehicles with 2.0L diesel engine
NOTE:
Make sure that a new sealing washer is installed.
Torque: 30 Nm
All vehicles

NAS vehicles have a seat position sensor fitted to both the driver and
passenger-side seats.
The seat position sensor, a hall-effect sensor, is fitted to the underside of
both the driver and passenger-side seats on NAS vehicles. It should be
