FILLING
CAUTION:
The following procedure is for filling and bleeding the system with correct oil volume. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the active driveline system.
WARNING:
Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
Remove the fluid filler plug.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the correct specification of fluid is used.
Refer to: Specifications (205-02B, Specifications).
WARNING:
Fluid loss is unavoidable, use absorbent cloth or a container to collect the fluid.
CAUTION:
Do not over tighten the filler plug. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the actuator assembly.
Install the filler plug.
Torque: 12 Nm
Lower the vehicle.
NOTE:
Using the approved Land Rover diagnostic equipment, bleed the hydraulic system using the service routine.
Carry out routine 3017 active driveline system pump bleed
NOTE:
Inspect the hydraulic system connections for fluid spillage
Raise the vehicle
NOTE:
After the hydraulic system bleeding procedure has been performed, make sure that the closing valves are in the open position as illustrated. Closed valves indicate that the hydraulic system bleeding procedure has not been successful.
CAUTION:
This step only required if the bleeding procedure has not been successful.
NOTE:
Before disconnect any components of the active driveline hydraulic system, the two pipe port closing valve must be closed manually as illustrated.
Close the valves.
CAUTION:
Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
Drain the rear drive unit actuator.
Install draining plug.
Torque: 16 Nm
Remove the fluid filler plug.
Fill the actuator assembly, add 330 +- 10 ml of fluid.
