Metal Repairs B-pillar
Reinforcement (G1770905) - Removal
Removal
NOTE:
The B-pillar reinforcement is installed in conjunction with:
- Front door
- Front fender
- Rear door
- B-pillar outer panel
- Headliner
- Rocker panel
NOTE:
The B-pillar reinforcement is detached from the side panel
reinforcement ring frame as it is not serviced separately.
The B-pillar reinforcement is serviced as indicated.
- Before commencing this procedure make sure that you are aware of
all Health and Safety requirements.

NOTES:
- Any joints sealed as part of vehicle manufacture must be sealed as
part of the repair.
- Make sure a zinc rich primer is applied to any bare metal surfaces.

- Release and position the floor carpet to one side.
- Release and position the floor Noise, Vibration and Harshness
(NVH) material to one side.
- Release and position the wiring harness to one side.
- To install the B-pillar reinforcement the B-pillar outer panel will
require the following cuts and spot welds to be removed as
indicated.
- Remove the spot welds as indicated.
- Carefully separate the joints and remove the panel. also releasing
the NVH component as indicated.

Dress the flanges where necessary.
Detach the upper and lower B-pillar reinforcement spot welds from
the new ring frame as indicated.

SEE MORE:
To avoid damage to the bonnet, do
not lift the wiper blades when they
are in the normal parked position.
Note: The Smart key must remain in the
vehicle while the wiper blades are
replaced.
Before changing a wiper blade, the wiper
arms must be set in the 'service' position
as follows:
Make sure the
Avoid brake testing on busy roads where it can cause inconvenience or
danger to other road users.
CAUTION:
Brake testing which includes heavy brake applications should not be
carried out with new brake pads/discs until the components have
bedded-in. New brake friction components will not reach full
