REMOVAL

All vehicles

Disconnect the battery ground cable.

Refer to: Specifications (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Specifications).

Raise and support the vehicle.

Vehicles with automatic transmission

Refer to: Flexplate (303-01B Engine - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel, Removal and Installation).

Vehicles with manual transmission

Refer to: Flywheel (303-01B Engine - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel, Removal and Installation).

Crankshaft Rear Seal (G1875871) / Removal and Installation

Remove and discard the rear crankshaft oil seal.

Special Tool(s): 100-012, 308-615

INSTALLATION

All vehicles

CAUTION:

Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.

NOTE:

The component labelled A in the illustration is a alignment spacer provided with a new seal.

Crankshaft Rear Seal (G1875871) / Removal and Installation

Position the new seal and spacer (A) onto the back of the crankshaft and partially install the seal on the crankshaft using the special tool

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1632

Renew Part: Crankshaft rear seal.

Remove seal spacer and using the special tool fully install the seal into its fitted position by installing the fixings.

Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1632

CAUTION:

Make sure the seal is installed correctly.

Remove the special tool.

Vehicles with automatic transmission

Vehicles with manual transmission

Refer to: Flywheel (303-01B Engine - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel, Removal and Installation).

Connect the battery ground cable.

Refer to: Specifications (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Specifications).

REMOVAL
